Quote for today.

I'm reading another book by Corrie Ten Boom "Tramp for the Lord" and she confessed disobedience by not wanting to return to Germany. She quoted F. B. Meyer, "God does not fill with His Holy Spirit those who believe in the fullness of the Spirit, or those who desire Him, but those who obey Him."

I immediately thought of 1 Samuel 15:22

So Samuel said:

“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

I desire the kind of relationship with Jesus that Corrie had. She learned to obey. It wasn't always easy, but she reaped the rewards of walking with Him and trusting and obeying. I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Seeking Him daily does not do it, it is only the start. After seeking, I must obey.
